Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone had an amazing long weekend spent with family and friends. I can't wait to hear about everyones long weekend in our students journals tomorrow!

Math:
We are just finishing up our patterns unit this week. We will be wrapping up this unit on Friday and the students will be creating pattern posters to show what they know! Next we will be moving onto a unit that focuses on number. We will be looking at things such as; addition with numbers to 100 (regrouping/non-regrouping), subtraction with numbers to 100 (regrouping/non-regrouping), place value with numbers to 100 and much more! This will just give you a general idea so you can do some practise with your child at home as well.

I strongly encourage you to check out http://ca.ixl.com/ it allows you to do up to 20 questions daily on all of the topics we cover in math. There is an option to subscribe monthly and yearly if it's something you like! It links up directly to our Alberta curriculum!

Language Arts:
We are starting our next unit in LA this week and here is a little sneak peak about what it is!
This time of year is so much fun! I love bats and every year my students get really excited about this unit. It also ties into one of our Science units "Small Crawling and Flying Animals."

Reminders:

  • Picture Day is on October 21st
  • Please return swim forms and swim report cards as soon as possible
  • Catalogue orders due on the 15th
  • Don't forget to get a criminal record check soon if you'd like to volunteer for swim lessons!
