What's Going On This Week!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, don't forget that it isn't over yet and that there is no school for students tomorrow! All of the teachers in Northern Lights will be in Bonnyville doing some learning of our own!

Special Visit!
We had a special visit last weekend, the kids had been waiting patiently for quite some time now.... The desk fairy made her appearance!

One lucky student had this waiting for them when they came in the door on Monday! Let me tell you it caused quite a stir and by the end of the day there was not one, but 24 super tidy desks!

Halloween:

Halloween is quickly approaching and I can feel the excitement in the air! Just a reminder, we will be celebrating on Thursday with a Halloween filled day. In the morning we will still be doing work but it will be Halloween themed (themes seem to make learning SO much more exciting!) We will also be doing a pumpkin craft. We will start our party shortly before lunch so if you've signed up to bring in a treat you can either drop it off right in the morning or anytime before nutrition break (if it needs to be refrigerate I can take it into the staff room.) Here is what we've got so far in our snack sign up!

• Sean - Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins (Yum-o!)
• Mason - Fruit (Always a big hit!)
• Greyson - Dessert (per Greyson's request :) ! )
• Zoe - Punch (Delish!)
• Destiny - Fruit (Love the healthy choice!)
• Deakyn - Cookies (Mmm Mmm!)

Thank you to all of our parents that send in treats, it's really appreciated. If you'd still like to bring in something and just haven't gotten around to sending in the form we are still in need of veggies and dip and meat, cheese and crackers. I will be bringing in plates, cups and cutlery. 

Please send your child with a nutrition snack and perhaps a sandwich just in case they don't like the food provided. 

We will be watching the movie while we eat our lunches and then we will be getting changed into our costumes (trying to avoid spilling any of the goodies on our costumes!) 

Movie:

I'm still on the lookout for a "G" rated movie for our party! I know some of the kids have some favourites so if you have one and don't mind lending it to our class for the day please let me know, it would really be appreciated! 

Swim Forms:

Swim forms will be sent in to the pool on November 4th so please try and make sure you have sent in your forms. If you are not interested in having your child take part please let me know as well as we will have to arrange something for your child during that time. Also please let me know if you are interested in accompanying us to the pool as a supervisor. It is always nice to have a few extra bodies to help get us there and back!

Our first day in the pool is on November 7th in the afternoon.

Thank you to all of those parents who have sent it items from our Grade 2 Wish List that was sent out at the beginning of the year! We have already put a lot of them to good use and appreciate it very much!
