A Four Day Week!

Halloween:
What a fantastic day! It was so great to see all of our kiddos dressed up in their costumes, they had a blast! Thank you to all of the parents who sent in treats, the kids and I really appreciated it!

Remembrance Day:
We will be holding a Remembrance Day ceremony on November 7th at 10:30 in the gym. Parents are more than welcome to attend. We will be talking about Remembrance Day in class this week as well as reading some books and looking at some video clips. It is such an important day, especially in our community.

Swimming:
Our first day of swimming is on the afternoon of the 7th. Please make sure your child comes to school with their bathing suite, towel, plastic bag (to carry their wet clothes in) and also a hat. We walk to and from the JJ Parr and it can be a bit chilly, please make sure your child has a hat to protect their wet hair against the cold.

Math:
We've jumped into place value this past week and have been exploring the tens and ones place! On Friday we played "Place Value War" and it was a big hit! I loved walking around the room and hearing the students saying the place value of their number. (Example: if I flipped over a 2 and a 3 I would say I have 2 tens and 3 ones, my number is 23.) We are working on using the correct language in class and will be exploring more on place value this week using base ten blocks!

No School:
Just a reminder that there will be no school on Friday, November 8th and Monday, November 11th.

** Spelling words for this week are posted under the Language Arts section!
