Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great long weekend (snow and all!) and that we're all ready to get back into the classroom!
Language Arts:
We are moving on from our Parts Of Speech study and will be diving into Fairy Tales and Fractured Fairy Tales! We will be looking at wide range of different stories and will be: making comparison, creating our own fairy tales, looking at what makes up a story and many other topics! This is my absolute favourite unit of the year and I can't wait to share it with our grade 2's!
Math:
We're well under way with our 3D shapes unit and we've been learning about them with a theme... Star Wars! Our kids were so excited to meet "Hans Cylinder" and "Cube 3PO" among others! We're currently looking at the names of shapes and the number of: faces, edges and vertices.
Earth Day:
Tomorrow is Earth Day! We will be doing some Earth friendly activities throughout the day in an attempt to be a little more Earth conscious!
